Still time to apply for primary places

Parents with children due to start at primary schools in Leicestershire in September still have time to apply for places.

Those yet to complete an application for their preferred schools can visit the County Council’s website at www.leicestershire.gov.uk/admissions to find out more and start the process.

Parents have until Monday, 15 January to submit their applications.

Councillor Ivan Ould, cabinet member for children and families, said: “There is no automatic entry system for any school in the county.

“As the deadline approaches, we are reminding parents not to delay in researching and shortlisting the schools they want to include on their application.

“We also want to encourage parents to make their application online and be aware of the closing date.”

Parents unable to apply online can call the Customer Service Centre on 0116 305 6684 and request a form to be sent out.
