Lutterworth Labour Party Branch is concerned about the climate emergency. The Government says it supports tackling the emergency but takes actions that make it worse such as:
* reducing planning regulations
*supporting carbon industries without requiring green transitions.
Sadly, its unlikely there will be a Labour government for a few years to address this.
However, there are actions we can take locally:
· Labour Branches and Leicestershire Labour for a Green New Deal will press City and County Councils to adopt low carbon policies and provide green new jobs.
· County Council elections 2021 – Labour candidates` will present a very green manifesto.
Covid has shown that radical changes can be made quickly. The climate emergency is even more serious, and Labour is the Party that is able and willing to tackle it and the social injustices that go with it.
