Closing date reminder for primary school place applications
|Parents are reminded that the closing date to apply for places at their preferred primary schools is fast approaching.
Families with children due to start primary school for the first time next September are being urged to get their applications in now.

Parents then have until Tuesday, 15 January 2019 to submit their applications.
Ivan Ould, Leicestershire County Council cabinet member for children and families, said: “We are reminding parents of the closing date and to shortlist up to three primary schools that they want to include on their application. There is no automatic entry system for any school in the county.
“Parents are encouraged to make their application online and to ensure they exercise their right to apply for three school preferences. Late applications have the lowest priority being processed after those made on time.”
Parents who complete applications should receive an email receipt confirming their choices have been submitted.
Parents unable to apply online can call the customer service centre on 0116 305 6684 and request a form to be sent out.

The number of children offered their first choice increased by 1.5 per cent on the previous years’ total of 91.3 per cent.
For autumn 2018 we saw an increase of nearly five per cent in primary school online applications with 97 per cent of parents using this method.
