Despite the appalling weather, there was a steady stream of visitors to the 8th annual Lutterworth Wine Fair, held in the Wycliffe Rooms, Lutterworth on Saturday 6th October – and judging by the numbers walking out a while later with bottles and boxes under their arms, it was a pretty satisfied clientele as well!
On offer was the opportunity to taste a range of wines from across the world, not just well known wine producing countries such as France, Spain Italy and Australia, but also lesser known producers, such as Austria and India. Not only that, but for those looking for something different, Two Birds, the distillery from Market Harborough were on hand with a range of flavoured gins and vodkas – and according to reports, the Expresso vodka was not to be missed.
The merchants expressed themselves very satisfied with the level of customers, with a high percentage of sales to visitors. Several have already said that they will be returning next year.
All in all, a very successful event. Income and expenditure is still being assessed, but there should be several hundred pounds to local good causes.
So, everything being equal, get the first Saturday in October 2019 into your diaries – for the 9th annual Lutterworth Wine Fair
