Talent Galore!

Many folk will know that we no longer have a carnival during the traditional Feast Week. We now have Lutterworth Arts Festival. In previous years there has been an inspiring collective of many styles and forms of art, from dramatic landscape oil paintings to abstract black and white photography. It really is worth a look, and it is humbling to live in an area with such diverse talents. The United Reformed Church is home to Lutterworth Arts and Craft – Thursday 17th August  – Saturday 19th August. Here you will find everything from fresh watercolours to intricate pottery and sculpture work, some of which is for sale. This exhibit is open from 10am – 5pm and entry is free!

Lutterworth Photographic Society has previously displayed both prints and projected images at the Wycliffe Methodist Church, accessed by the Coventry Road entrance. This year they will be in the same location and is open on Friday 18th August, 6-9pm and Saturday 19th August, 10am – 5pm.  The work on display varies from stunning monochrome portraits to amazing landscape pieces . Taking time to sit and watch through the slides in a darkened room is not only mesmerizing but emotionally stirring, seeing some of the work in this manner, gave a more intimate, personal connection and relates on a different level with those behind the lens.  Another key aspect of the Lutteworth Arts Festival is the Lutterworth Embroiders who will be exhibiting at the Wycliffe Memorial Church, Friday 18th August, 6pm – 9pm and Saturday 19th August, 10am – 5pm. Entry is free to both the Lutterworth Photographic Society and Lutterworth Embroiders exhibits.

I am certain this year will be yet another feast for the eyes and no less inspirational.
